While in graduate school, I wrote my MA thesis on the role of the Andy Griffith show and Andy Griffith's early acting career in the creation of mediated American Religious culture. The research I did on Griffith and his life inspired me in both the academic setting that I was in, and also as a fellow country boy from North Carolina trying to broaden his horizens. His life and its impact is more than worthy of a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
