Our family always felt a close connection to Paul Newman because my father (who will be 90 this January) was born on the exact same day, 1-26-25. We were fortunate to see PL race in 1980 at Limerock, CT. He won his race and I was all set to take his picture as he left the stand after getting his award. I was within 5 feet of him when I saw his gorgeous, uniquely blue eyes that stunned me so much, I took the photo seconds after he turned his head slightly to his right so I missed the blue splendor of those eyes. Interestingly enough, my son in his early 20's looked like a young Paul Newman (seriously, I'm not just saying that because he's my son!)
I think Connecticut was important to Paul Newman, too. And yes, he does deserve a star on the Walk of Fame. I would've thought he already had one!!
