I write now and again with pleasure as I have many tidbit stories relating to Sig' "Pop" Lubin.
Today I was in recall of the bottom site stream and bridged highway spot, on ++Baltimore Pile, over Darby Creek. Whitewashed rows of connected mill worker housing stood four square direction from the bridge road.
Every row looked either exactly lookalike the near ones or very similar. To identify exact - locals gave colorful names to every row-string of mill houses. One on the north side of the Pike and hug tight to the bridge was Duck Row. Local person related it always had ducks waddling close and about.
Once, however, the ducks were gone!
In some gather way the ducks were rounded up and borrowed by a Lubin film crew for a film part.
Local persons spoke of items outside their homes - disappearing; err, found that they had been borrowed - unasked - by the same crew culprits.
