Steve Cochran was an original in films and far ahead of the Hollywood era he was in.From stage actor and director, he tried the studio system for 3 years at Warners. Fed up with the type casting as a villain, he vowed to write, direct and produce his own films. Indie films have come into their own these days, but it was too early for Cochran. He left a legacy with his controversial last film
Tell Me in The Sunlight, but left us too soon to make a real impact But for the 40 films he did make, he surely deserves another star on the Hollywood walk of fame for them. ES
