I am an avid Conway fan. I believe he deserves a star for his movie career. He was a much better actor than his brother and arguably worked harder. Conway's real problem was that he sounded like George in his early Hollywood career which at first was a help but in the end it was a hindrance. In late 1952 Tom flew to London to make Blood Orange and Park Plaza 605 - he told the press in the US before he left, not to refer to him as George Sanders brother because he did not want to trade on his name. Tom was very enthusiastic about a potentially new film career in England. That sadly was short lived because he was diagnosed in 1953 with a terminal liver disease. He went to Capri to die but found a doctor who had discovered a new drug. Tom did recover enough to be able to carry on working but there were many visits to hospital over the coming years
